San Antonio, Texas – March 20, 2018: In a joint effort with the American University of Beirut (AUB) Mechanical Engineering Department, CCT’s Human Proximity Alert and Vehicle Control system (HPAVC) has won this year’s CII's CETI Award in the category of Intelligent and Automated Construction Job Site, during CII’s Technology Showcase, that took place at Hyatt Hill Country Resort, San Antonio, Texas, between 18 - 20 March, 2018.

CII’s CETI Awards are granted annually to recognize and showcase achievements in the fields of technology research, development and implementation, as well as to promote major achievements by individuals and companies, through their innovative solutions.

The Intelligent and Automated Construction Job Site category focuses on projects that significantly reduce construction time and cost, produce high-fidelity documentation of facilities, diminish errors, improve safety and security, and secure efficient supply of materials to the construction job site.

The CETI Award went to CCT’s HPAVC project team, which was a joint effort by Rami Santina (CCT), Chehade Kassouf (CCT), Rayan Jreije (Consolidated Contractors Company), Dr. Daniel Asmar (AUB) and Dr. Naseem Daher (AUB). The target of this project was to provide an AI-based control unit, placed on construction site vehicles such as cranes, trucks, etc. in order to detect the presence of humans in the proximity of the vehicle and apply breaks automatically (or emit warning signals) in close proximities.
